-Carl Davidson is a widely known writer and political activist. He is active in the Solidarity Economy Movement and is national co-chair of the Committees of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism (CCDS), and is webmaster of Progressives for Obama. Carl was a leader of the 60s New Left, a national officer of SDS, and editor of the Guardian. We discuss the World Social Forum movement and the recent U.S. Social Forum in Detroit, a significant and lively event that brought together 15,000 activists for peace and social justice from around the country. We also discuss the Solidarity Economy movement and the question of socialism as a viable option for the 21st Century.
